1. General information

● Xylo-oligosaccharide (XOS) is a functional polysaccharide formed by connecting 2-7 xylose molecules with β-1, 4 glycosidic bond.

● Molecular weight: 132n+18 (n=2~7)

● Molecular formula: C5nH8n+2O4n+1

● Range of MW: 282~942

● CAS No. [87-99-0]

● Molecular structure:

 

● Raw materials: It is made by enzymatic hydrolysis of xylan from corncob.

 

2. Appearance and Package:

 

● Brown powder

● 25kg cardboard barrel, aluminum foil or PE bag inside or other customer required package.

 

3. Characteristics:

 

● Stimulate beneficial bacteria: XOS

● could enhance beneficial bacteria of intestine and feces in animals.

● Good stability: XOS own very good stability to acid and heat. It’s stable in the condition of PH 2.5-8 and temperature of 120℃, so XOS cannot be broken during the feed process. 

● Low dosage: The effective dosage is very low, generally it is 200g/MT feed.

● Indigestibility :XOS is hardly decomposed by digestive enzyme and can reach the hind intestine to play the prebiotic function completely.

 

4. Application Functions

XOS applied in feed of broilers, layers, weaned piglets, growing pigs and aquatic animals and also pet, all can: Improve growth performance, intestinal flora, intestinal structure and immunity.

● In layers: Increase laying rate,improve egg quality and lower breakagerate, inferior egg rate and cholesterol;

● In weaned piglets: Decrease diarrhea ratio; 

● In pregnant sows: Improve constipation;

● In pet: Decrease the odour to maintain air fresh;

● In other animals of calf, lamb, rabbit: reference as above mentioned.

 

5. Application Methods

 

● For feed, XOS can add in premix feed, concentrated feed and complete feed.

● For the integrative farming enterprises, XOS can be directly added in the feed. Take the health breeding line from original source, reduce the use of drug and create the economic benefits and environment ecological benefits for the whole industrial chain.

● Applied in the animal healthcare products: Generally combine XOS with herbals, vitamins, trace elements and probiotic etc. Combine XOS with therapeutic drugs, recover intestinal health timely, avoid bacterial infection, start and increase feed intake in advance and recover health immediately.
